I finished reading Babel last night and thought I might re-read Gideon the Ninth next before embarking on Harrow the Ninth. Instead I stepped back into Philosophy in the Hellenistic and Roman Worlds.
Immediately I felt a sense of Wonder and connection to myself. It doesn’t matter if I understand all the arguments or fail to remember the history. How I feel is enough to make it worthwhile. Philosophy means a love of wisdom and that is what’s being triggered for me. I am not reading to study philosophy. Being with the thoughts and stories is enough.
