Goal
By the end of Summer (Feb 2026) catalogue all photos in the Mediabank import folder up to the end of 2025.
2026-03-01, Good progress was made, but I missed the original goal and have pushed this to the Autumn 2026 quarter. I can say that without the goal, progress would have been less.
There is an large and overwhelming number of photos sitting in a backlog state. Often, keeping up with new photos can be difficult, especially when we’ve been on holiday or I’ve undertaken a photo shoot.
The import folder is starting with 5,025 images. Some of these will be culled, but the majority will remain. Over three thousand are scanned photos still to be catalogued, and the remainder split across 2024/25.
Progress as at 1 January 2026.
I am usually quite disciplined about how I approach my Mediabank > Cataloguing, but for this project I need to relax that for the scanned photos. Dates, people and locations were not recorded. I will get as close as I can for locations (Country/City/State) and use My photo dating strategy for uncertain dates with the most educated guess. Unknown people will be categorised by type, e.g., Friends of my daughters…, Relatives of my wife… so that if anyone looks in the future they will have some context even if the specifics are unknown (yes, I could ask my wife to sit there beside me for hours identifying people but she doesn’t want that.)

2025-12-06—Have reorganised IMatch better to make use of How IMatch Automation Favorites Turn Routine Tasks into Routine
2026-03-20—Finally have 2024 completed. Still remaining are 2025 and 4 folders of scanned images. 2025 is about half of what’s remaining.
