The Sun is shining and the washing is ready to be brought in. I’ve blown the Autumn leaves from the street gutter and footpath onto the grass and have a fresh cup of Assam tea in hand. I should say “the last of the Autumn leaves” and can’t. The last day of the season and the weather is still oddly warm and clear. Yesterday, after my morning gym visit, I remained in shorts until late afternoon. The weather is very much milder than it should be for this time of year.

Health and wellness

I cut my gym session short yesterday. First time ever. I’m using the excuse of a lack of concentration. Seriously, I was putting myself in danger and a few times failed to use the equipment properly.

New glasses on the way. Somehow my prescription has improved! I wear them all the time so it’s both normal spectacles and prescription sunnies to come.

Hobbies

Heavy rotation of Tomb Raider this weekend. I’ve played it twice before am playing the story rather than getting caught up in “tomb raiding.”

Since my last update I finished Babel and Philosophy in the Hellenistic and Roman Worlds. I have 37 hours of the Wind and Truth audiobook to go and have almost finished Gideon the Ninth. I read it early last year (I think) and can’t remember much of the detail so a re-read before moving to Harrow the Ninth.

This weekend I have converted my DVD Profiler database into Obsidian and will integrate the notes into my Digital garden. I have wanted to do this for a while. Everything in the one place, all inter-linked has advantages. I’ll lose purchase information for insurance purposes. I know some will hanker for the disc inserting days of hold but I hold it only for the best quality discs. Everything else I own is available on a streaming platform at the same or better quality, and with less physical friction.
