I’m sitting here thinking, “Damn. Another three days without any writing of note.” The reality is I’m tired. Really tired. And I’m spending time decompressing from my work week. It’s not that I’ve achieved nothing all weekend. I’ve made some website improvements and created a script that helps me identify incorrectly dated files in Mediabank. It’s important I show myself compassion. I know I’m off balance at the moment

I will say one thing though, and it’s that I need to be careful about the story I’m telling myself. How much of the reason I don’t write is because I’m carrying a story about myself that is self-defeating. Warning flags sounded when watching How I Lost 65lbs Without Really Trying. The 6th point was, “Change who you think you are?” It hit me emotionally, hard. I recognise a question I’ve not answered. Even writing about it now makes me feel uncomfortable. Always a sign to dig deeper and I can feel some Proprioceptive writing coming on.

Some miscellaneous items from the week include:

  • Deciding I want a new watch (see Returning to an older time).
  • Changed my Obsidian default font to Atkinson Hyperlegible Font from the Braille Institute. I may make it my website’s font when I can work out how.
  • Watching Nolan’s, The Odyssey.
  • Finished reading The Sword of Kaigen and the King (2004), The Song of Susannah audiobook.
  • Started Bakker (2008), The Thousandfold Thought and King (1994), Insomnia audiobook. The narrator is a tad too quiet, made worse by loud music appearing out of nowhere drowning it out.
  • Spent the week with a sore back after flipping our bedroom around last Sunday.
