Automatic listening

  • ontological distinction

Listening is automatic—not something I can turn off, or choose. Like I could not ignore hearing a loud noise, I cannot help but respond to my interpretations in the moment. Some I am fortunate enough to catch and re-interpret, but these are few and even then, I are limited to our Already listening.1
