I’m going to structure my Now posts more simply, taking a leaf from the way Tracy Durnell structures their Weeknotes. I do more in a week than I ever note and I expect I’ll need to capture along the way. The “Stuff I Did” category is what I’m missing
Here, at least, are a few highlights from the week just gone.
- Played Elite: Dangerous in a controlled manner. Only a couple of hours a day when I could play more.
- Purchased a bluetooth water timer for the front yard. Instead of 30 minute waterings when we remember during Summer, I’m setting it up for 10 minutes every 3 days in the morning. I need to purchase a better end connector for the hose to avoid leaking.
- Read Statesman and watched Self Directed Study in Philosophy | Plato’s Dialogues and Thought | Sadler’s Advice - YouTube afterwards because I did not understand as much as I’d hoped and recognised it’s my approach as much as the material. Felt more confident afterwards.
- Watched the first episode of IT: Welcome to Derry
- Called the council ranger to collect a cat that arrived extremely injured on our doorstep.
- Pulled more weeds from the back lawn.
- Had 5 days off in a row by maximising a public holiday, a day of leave and my normal 3-day weekend.
- Ordered my wife’s Christmas present.
- Noted an uplift in people dressing up for Halloween.
- Set up a family member’s new laptop.
- Fell over the small gate we had across the bedroom door to stop our dog barking at the front window. I’d forgotten it was there and hit it hard. Have a sense now of how dangerous falls for the elderly are.
