Language is a core domain of my Way of Being. Many Allies and enemies of learning exist in my internal dialogue.
Admitting ignorance
To learn I have to Declare to myself I want to learn. That can only come if I first admit I don’t know. The admission of ignorance is like opening a door to let new knowledge flow in.
Acknowledging teachers
I limit learning from others when I fail to acknowledge they know something I don’t, and they are capable of imparting that knowledge. I must acknowledge someone or a situation as a legitimate teacher before I can learn. This has always been a net positive experience.
