Plot
The Long Walk is a dystopian horror novel by American writer Stephen King, published in 1979, under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. Set in a future dystopian America, ruled by a totalitarian and militaristic dictator, the plot revolves around the contestants of a grueling, annual walking contest.
I loved this story the very first time I read it in 1987 and it’s been one of my favourite of all time since. In one reality I’m in the walk and doing well. In the real reality I’d be out very early on.
Super happy to finally see this story in The Long Walk (movie) movie in 2025 at the cinemas with my daughter.
