Curtis McHale is banging on again (his words) about blogging instead of posting on Mastodon, Threads, X, whatever. I agree. There is a different level of thinking that goes into a blog than a “social media platform” post.

Once your blog post is posted, share the link on social media where people can see it and comment. If you’re thinking this is about driving traffic to your site then you’re mistaken. It’s about creating more robust conversation.

I don’t think every social media post needs to be a blog. If you’re responding to someone else, especially if it really is a social interaction, then reply on the social media platform. It gets awkward otherwise.
