Taking an idea from 5 Practical Habits For Photography & Your Creative Life - YouTube I want to document my photography project goals for the next 4 months.
I’m not looking at shutter speed, aperture or ISO when I take my photos. I’ve been looking at exposure in AV mode only which means I risk blurry photos with movement. To build the habit I am going to take full manual mode photos over the July–October 2025 period.
I’ve always loved gum trees. Rather than take lots of different photos I will focus on photos of trees. It feels right that I’ll take lots of eucalypt photos in the future. However, I’ve not yet developed the eye for isolating one tree from another. To train my sight I’m going to take photos of all sorts of trees in a 1:1 square. Less freedom of movement to compose the photo should help me place my attention in the right place.
