Stephen Denning, the author of The Leader’s Guide to Storytelling has commented on the role of emotions in learning. He conjects that “narrative is important for high-speed learning: it can engage the heart” and suggests that learning is easy when we are motivated to learn.
I agree. As with anything, a mood of ambition or Optimism greatly enhances our chances of success and one thing that narrative (or story telling) does is allow us to link need more closely with our own experience. Something which is close to my experience becomes important to me. That makes learning relevant and creates a desire to learn.
