The internet can be a wonderful place at times. I’ve been lucky enough to meet many people across the globe with similar interests despite our quite different backgrounds and roles in life.
Jason Mehmel is one such person. As a theatre director and presentation coach he’s in a different space than me. He’s also on the other side of the world. Jason reached out to me on Mastodon about the Obsidian Wallabag plugin when the original developer mothballed the project. He saw that I’d contributed some code and asked if I’d incorporate my as yet unaccepted changes into a final release. I’m more than happy to say that Jason has now contributed code of his own—tags in Obsidian properties format. We are going through the process of getting the plugin re-registered in the community.
I initially had warnings on the plugin page about how I wasn’t able to put much time into the project but I removed those this morning. Even if we go slowly, every little bit of help, well helps. Should nothing else come of this I no longer feel the burden of doing it alone.
All this came about by one stranger reaching out to another with a Request for help. Instead of slamming people for disagreeing with you, find someone who does and talk to them.
