Overview
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based role-playing game set in a fantasy version of Paris where portions of the population are erased once a year by “The Paintress”. It is the expedition’s goal to destroy her and end the cycle.
Started playing on 2026-02-08 after putting aside Kingdom Come Deliverance in frustration. Completely different experiences. I’m engaged from the beginning. Strong Forspoken vibes.
Finished the main storyline on 2026-03-01. An amazing game that I’m not done with yet after my 45 approx. hours so far. Story is great. Gameplay is great. Music is great. Easy to see how it won Game of the Year.
2026-03-24, I’ve completed the game as far as I can for now. There are only a couple of trophies required to get the Platinum Trophy but I’ve decided it’s not worth the effort. The Gestral mini-games are horribly annoying, and the grind from level 94 to 99 is nothing but a waste of time. Instead I’m moving to Shadow of the Colossus.
