I own a pair of Celestron SkyMaster 20x80 binoculars, ordered 2021-03-07 and arrived 2021-03-29. Why is it a pair of binoculars and not a pair of monoculars?
They are heavy and weigh in at 2.1kg. Too heavy to hold without a tripod. I’m using a Neewer N284L+G0 tripod which is sturdy enough and gives me the height I need to look comfortably without bending my back.
Unfortunately there is so much torque delivered through the size and weight, the main mount quickly loosens.
When not in use, it’s stored in a Sirius Optics Case Aluminium Large Case and it’s often not in use. I must get out more. Perhaps a visit to one of the Bendigo District Astronomical Society, Sidewalk Astronomy nights is a good idea.
Spotting
It may be worth getting a red dot finder for easier spotting at night. All from the USA it seems which is not ideal. I might be able to find something that matches the Canon R50 for Astrophotography.
