Throughout history no communication technology has been as successful as text. We can still read words that were written several thousand years ago.1

Steph Ango wrote “If you want your writing to still be readable on a computer from the 2060s or 2160s, it’s important that your notes can be read on a computer from the 1960s.”2 and that cannot be denied as long as you follow File over app.

Always bet on text is the most practical way of overcoming the Interoperability gap only if the text is stored as text, readable by humans independently of any decoding technology.
