My published panoramas are in The Wider Perspective album.
Autumn Sunset
My panorama process
Ideally use a tripod, but can be done handheld.
- Taking the panorama
- Get the exposure right
- Set to shutter priority so that ISO and aperture don’t change
- Set white balance to anything other than AWB
- Focus
- Set focus to manual so it doesn’t change
- Shoot with plenty of overlap for later stitching using Affinity Photo
- Processing
- Process images through DXO Pure Raw to remove noise and spherical aberration
- Stitch using Affinity Photo
- Perform image editing (cropping, colour grading, sharpening)
- Save as JPEG alongside first DNG in series (100% quality)1
- Copy DNG metadata to JPEG (transfer shooting information, GPS etc.)
- Delete DNG series files
Footnotes
-
Might need to test TIFF instead of JPEG ↩
