A Personal knowledge management system needs to be valuable in the knowledge and connections that it surfaces, otherwise the cost outweighs the benefits and we are in round after round of productive non-work1.

Storing everything creates too much detail and the big picture is lost2. Be very careful that you Don’t duplicate public knowledge.
