My daughter gave me the LEGO Darth Vader Helmet (75304) kit for Christmas 2025 and this is a record of my effort building the LEGO set. It has a total 834 pieces. Finished it is sized 20 cm (8”) high, 15 cm (5.5”) wide and deep.

Day 1, 28 April 2026

Bag 1 starts with the base and very lower piece of the mask. I normally have my pieces spilled into a shallow dark grey baking tray which made the mostly black pieces a little difficult to find.

Day 2, 29 April 2026

Vader’s face is now there, clearly recognisable. I usually keep track of the time on these models, but forgot. My estimate is about 30 mins/bag.

Day 3, 30 April 2026

Darth has been to the optometrist and had his eyes added. Most of the rest of the build is infrastructure to hang the helmet on. It’s always interesting to see how this builds up behind the scenes.1

Day 4, 1 May 2026

Front, top and back of the helmet are in place. The neck guard is still to come.

Day 5, 2 May 2026

Finished with just 2 sleeps to go until Star Wars Day. I was worried I had lost the sticker for the baseplate, then relieved to find it pre-pre-printed. As if we wouldn’t know who it was.

This was an enjoyable little build and he’ll hopefully fit beside R2-D22 in my cabinet.
