Primary purpose of journaling
The primary purpose of Journaling is to notice your life in a way that leads to personal growth, and not purely historical recording. Journaling is a self-improvement practice.
There are many reasons to journal.
- Self-authorship with a journal to better understand your life’s events and their part in your story1
- Capture historical information with a journal
- Process emotions with a journal
- Ideate ideas and solutions with a journal
A journal can be used for life tracking, though a Commonplace book for the tracking itself may be better.
