It has been a long day but thought?horizon is now powered by movabletype. The decision to move away from Radio Userland was tight but came down to personal preference at the end of the day. So far, movabletype has been very easy to configure and I’m working with it more powerfully than I was with Radio at the same time.
Some of the content was culled along the way; especially as it related to point-in-time announcements of events that have passed. It has been very enjoyable going back over old postings and seeing my journey of the past 12 months. If you have linked directly to a posting don’t fear as you will be redirected to the new pages in a flash. I couldn’t get it to the same individual entry, but the same day is close enough. I felt it important not to lose content that you may have referred to.
Regular readers should notice no difference to their RSS feeds as I have purposely kept the same naming convention as Radio. You may experience some duplication of recent posts (we’re sending out the last 15 as shown on the home page).
The site is now fully XHTML 1.0 validated, CSS 2.0 validated and RSS 1.0/2.0 validated. It took a lot of work but now with a base I can keep it going. This was done to ensure maximum compatability with browsers and news aggregators on the market and it will be nice when movabletype can validate posts as it creates them.
As yet there may be some broken links out of postings. These will be hunted down and summarily dismissed.
Look and feel still under development as is implementation of trackback links.
