If you drag a contact from Outlook into PersonalBrain, a thought is created with a copy of the contact. Changes in one, do not reflect as changes in the other. The PersonalBrain discussion group has come up with this solution.
1. Drag a contact from Outlook into PersonalBrain, then delete the attached file. This creates a thought with the person’s name and can be omitted if the contact is already there.
2. Create a link using Outlook Linker, a free utility from TeamScope.
a) Outlook must be running.
b) Start Outlook Linker if not already running
c) Select your link type (I use GUID because it will remain unique)
d) Select the contact you want to link to and double-click the Outlook Linker icon in the system tray.
e) Go to the contact’s thought in PersonalBrain and attach the link as a web page.
There you have it, a link direct to the Outlook record. Now you can modify contacts in PersonalBrain and still have them available in Outlook for email or synchronizing to a PDA.
Note For this strategy to work, your default browser must be Internet Explorer.
