I’ve been experimenting with a way to put a copy of thought?horizon on my Palm Pilot. The most obvious solution was to take a dump of the web pages and display them using iSilo or Plucker (I chose Plucker because it’s free). JPluck extends Plucker in one very important way. It converts RSS Feeds as well as web pages.

JPluck converts web sites to Plucker documents for offline reading using the Plucker Viewer for Palm OS devices or the Opie-Reader for the Sharp Zaurus. With JPluck on your desktop and the reader on your handheld you can carry the web in the palm of your hand!

If you used Plucker or iSilo to pick up my RSS feed you would see the raw feed which is why I created a separate PDA friendly feed. JPluck takes the raw RSS and formats it into an index page and separate pages for each entry in the feed.

Some screenshots will show what I mean. The first shows the index page with the name of my blog, its description and the first entry or two.

Further down the list of entries you see…

And when you click on an individual entry you have navigation buttons at the top and bottom.

If you’re using JPluck, the following entry will grab thought?horizon as an RSS feed for you. Adjust the maxDepth value to your liking. A value of “0″ gets thought?horizon pages only. A value of “1″ gets and direct links from those pages.
