Terry Frazier tells us he spent 2+ hours waiting to vote in the US Elections. And, that 30-40 minutes is ok. Must be something about Australia’s compulsory voting that forces us to get the logistics better. I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes from the moment I turn up, until the moment I have left as a voter.
I’ve done my part for the representative process we call voting. It was a pain — two plus hours standing outside waiting to get to one of the computer-controlled, touchscreen, audit-proof voting machines … I have never waited two hours to vote. I think the longest I ever spent at a polling place was 30-40 minutes. Next time I will either take the necessary steps to get and cast a ballot by mail or I will wait and vote on Election Day.
