Robin Good has continued his mission to provide quality information and research for people use the Internet as part of their day-to-day activity. This time it appears in the publication of his mini-guide “Become a News God“. As Robin says it is “how to be the first one to know everything about anything”.
For a while I’ve been looking at knowledge management yet have had difficulty finding the right set of tools that work for me on the Web. And to clarify, the tool that works for me is one where it does the work and I don’t have to in order to keep the information sorted or easy to find. Robin delivers fully comprehensive list of technologies and tools backed by reasoning as to why you would use them or select one over the other. His comments have made me go back to a couple of tools and reevaluate them in more detail than I had in the past.
Robin’s style of writing is easy to read and he provides links direct to the website of the tools that he is discussing. If you are at all serious about managing the information flow that comes from the hole in the wall to the computer on your desk I suggest you give “Become a News God” and good look. It is by far the most comprehensive listing and evaluation of the field that I have found.
